“The numbers will grow”: UN confirmed more than 1000 dead in suburbs of Kyiv

bodies of more than 1000 civilians were discovered in areas north of Kyiv, which were occupied by the Russian military, said the Supreme Commissar of the UN Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.

Deutsche Welle reports that, according to the Bachelet, several hundred of them were executed without a proper trial or shot with snipers. “These numbers will continue to grow,” said the Bachelet at a special session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

This is the second similar meeting dedicated to violations discovered by investigators in Buch, Irpen and other suburbs of Kyiv, which were captured by Russian troops at the initial stage of invasion of Ukraine.
