“There are no here”: Sudan denies presence of Russian mercenaries in country

The head of the government of Sudan denies the presence of Russian and any other mercenaries in the country, reports the Internet resource of Middle East Eye.

A day earlier, this was also stated by Sudanese General Abdel Fattah al-Burghan. Thus, the government and the army deny reports that the Wagner group is involved in the smuggling of gold and diamonds. It is assumed that the Wagnerians are engaged in the extraction of valuable fossils at previously captured gold mining enterprises.

According to New York Times, this bothers officials in the United States. They believe that gold and diamonds can be illegally delivered to Russia to replenish the country’s gold reserve, which has suffered greatly from the superior sanctions.
