Tokaev: Kazakhstan strives to become one of largest digital hubs of Eurasia

Digitalization has become Kazakhstan’s priority of the national level. We intend to become one of the largest and most advanced digital hubs in Eurasia. This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev, speaking at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Investors.

According to him, the growth of digitalization already determines the current agenda, having a cardinal effect on the development of the economy. “The wide implementation of new concepts and technologies, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, Internet of things (IoT) and big data (Big Data), leads to a change in the rules of the game in almost all sectors – from agriculture to finance,” the president said.

Tokaev noted that digitalization has already become a determining factor in the competitiveness of entire countries and regions.

“We in Kazakhstan clearly understand the critical importance of this trend. In other words, digitalization has become the priority of the national level for us. We intend to become one of the largest and most advanced digital hubs in Eurasia. Non -experts unanimously supported the creation of the Center for Digital Solutions in Kazakhstan The United Nations for the Sustainable Development of Central Asia. We consider this as a symbol of trust and an important milestone for Kazakhstan’s entry into the world arena. The center is designed to integrate global, regional and national interests aimed at preventing the occurrence of “digital walls” between countries, ”Tokaev noted Tokaev .

In addition, the Kazakh leader attracted attention to positive dynamics in all the main sectors of the economy of Kazakhstan. “Last year, we attracted a record volume of foreign investment, which amounted to $ 28 billion. It is noteworthy that the non -market sector has become the main source of the flow of foreign direct investment,” the president said.

According to him, despite the growing protectionism around the world, Kazakhstan has further strengthened its position as countries with open market economies. “Foreign trade turning increased by 32 percent and reached $ 134 billion,” he said.
