Tour find in Azerbaijan is growing

In January 2023, Azerbaijan visited 119.1 thousand foreigners and stateless persons from 131 countries, which is 1.6 times higher than the indicator for the same period last year.

This is stated in a statement by the State Committee for Statistics with reference to the State Border Service of Ar.

Most of all, Azerbaijan was visited by citizens of neighboring countries – Russia (33.8%), Turkey (21.1%) and Iran (9.3%).

5.6% of foreigners arrived in Azerbaijan from Georgia, 3.4% – India, 3.2% of the UAE, 2.7% – Pakistan, 2.1% – Kuwait, 1.8% from Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan, 1.5% – Ukraine, 1.2% from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Belarus, 10.1% from other countries.

77.7% of the arrivals were men, 22.3% were women.

In comparison with the same period last year, the number of arrivals from Pakistan increased 9.9 times, India 8.6 times, from Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – 5 times, Belarus – by 3.6 times, China – 3. 1 time, Kazakhstan – 3 times, Kuwait – 2.9 times, Oman – 2.2 times, Israel – 2.1 times, the UAE – 1.9 times, Georgia – 1.6 times, USA – 1.6 times, Russia – 1.5 times, from the UK – by 47.6%, Turkey – by 40.7%, Ukraine – by 19.8%, Iran – by 15.6%.

According to the State Border Service, a tourist flow to Azerbaijan from the CIS countries increased by 1.6 times – to 49 thousand people, from EU member countries – also 1.6 times, amounting to 4.3 thousand people, the Persian Gulf states – by 29.3%, up to 21.3 thousand people.

During the reporting period, foreign countries visited 109.3 thousand citizens of Azerbaijan, which is 21.9% higher than January 2022.

38.2% of citizens of the republic visited Turkey, 21.7% – Russia, 10.5% – Georgia, 9% – Iran, 20.6% – other countries.

The number of citizens who visited Georgia has grown 2.7 times, Georgia is 1.6 times, Turkey – by 18.4%, Iran – by 13%, Russia – by 2.7%.

69.2% of those who left were men, 30.8% were women.

In 2022, Azerbaijan visited 1 million 602.3 thousand citizens of foreign states and stateless persons from 178 countries, which was 2 times higher than the indicator for 2021.

The number of citizens of Azerbaijan who went abroad increased 1.5 times in 2022 to 1 million 489.5 thousand people.
