Turkey mulling to expel Americans with a military air base

In Turkey, they wanted to expel American soldiers from the Military Avian Base of the Inzhirlik after the statement of US President Joe Bayiden, in which he called the death of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire at the beginning of the 20th century genocide. With such a proposal, the chairman of the Turkish party “Rodina” Dog Periphek, reports TASS.

“The Armed Forces of Turkey must immediately establish complete control over the Indezhirylik airbase and return the American military houses on it for 15 days,” the politician called.

Currently, the base of the Indezhirylik, located near the city of the same name in Adana Province, is used both Turkish and American Air Force (Air Force) and is considered the eastern base of the US Air Force and NATO Command in Europe. As the TASS notes, in Ankara, against the background of the pressure from Washington, there were discussions on the possibility of closing the air base for Americans, however, Turkish politicians have not reached real action.
