Turkey violated rights of Samira Alekperova

The Constitutional Court of Turkey ruled that the rights of citizen of Azerbaijan Samira Alekperova, a wanted Interpol and arrested in Turkey in 2017, were violated during the extradition. In particular, it was established that the term of preliminary conclusion of Alekperova was unreasonably extended.

The sentence was made on the basis of direct circulation of citizen of Azerbaijan to the Constitutional Court of Turkey.

53-year-old Samira Ramig Gyza Alekperova, a resident of the Elakhsky district, was declared a search by the Sabail district police department of the city of Baku under article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code (fraud, causing major damage), for this reason in Turkey, and subsequently extradened to Azerbaijan .

According to the indictment, Alekperova deceived his friend, promising her to open a joint business, and by fraud assigned gold jewelry in the amount of $ 415.000.

Alone, Alekperova since 2001 lives in Turkey, has permission to work in the country and, according to judicial documents, crimes in the territory of this country did not commit.

After Alekperova’s arrest in December 2017, Istanbul sentenced it to 40 days of preliminary conclusion and launched the extradition procedure. Alekperova against this decision objected because the accusations nominated against it were not supported by evidence. In addition, she had a permanent residence permit in Turkey and eleven-year-old daughter in care;

However, the higher court left a sentence of a woman’s preliminary conclusion, and later he extended him several times.

Alekperov was transferred to the law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan in February 2019.

As a result, the Constitutional Court of Turkey ruled that the fact of engaging the citizen of Azerbaijan in the process of preparing extradition was unreasonable and violated the rights and freedoms Samira Alekperova.
