Turkish astronaut began research on ISS

The Turkish astronaut of Alper Geezeravji began researching at the International Space Station. This is stated in the message of the Turkish Space Agency (TUA) in the social network x.

Goseravji arrived at the ISS as part of the AX-3 mission.

, within the framework of his first experiment at the station, the astronaut will be explored by plants in conditions of salt stress.

The leaders of the scientific project are employees of the University of Aegean Professor Ismail Turkan, Rengin Ozgur Uzildai and Barysh Uzildai. Research work is called “Study of the reaction of the extremal gallophyte Schrenkiella parvula to salt stress in the space environment.”

As part of the experiment, it is planned to identify a transcriptoma by sequencing a new generation (RNA-EQ) in plants grown in space and on Earth A. Thaliana and Schrenkiella parvula under salt stress. A comparison of a number of physiological and molecular reactions of glycophytic and halophytic plants to salt stress in the environment of microgravity will also be compared.
