Aviation festival, astronautics and technology Teknofest in recent years has turned into an international brand in its field. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking on Saturday at the Teknofest-2023 festival in Istanbul.
“In the ranks of visitors of today’s exhibition, I see future astronauts, inventors, engineers and physicists,” said Erdogan.

The Turkish leader said that in 2023 the technology holiday – the Teknofest festival after Istanbul will be held in Ankara.
Erdogan announced that Turkey has determined the main and spare astronauts for the first flight into space.
The Turkish leader introduced the public of the main and spare cosmonauts – Alper Geezeravji and the tuna of Jihangir Atasever, and also invited their parents to the stage.
“The first Turkish cosmonaut on the ISS will be the successful Air Force of the Turkish Air Force Alpere Goseravji. The reserve cosmonaut for the country’s first space mission – Tuva Jikhangir Atasevers, engineer of RoqueTsan in the field of launching devices into space,” said the president
President Erdogan noted that the flight of the Turkish astronaut is scheduled for the last quarter of 2023. The first space mission of Turkey will last for the ISS for 14 days.
According to the politician, in the framework of the upcoming mission, it is planned to conduct 13 different experiments within the framework of projects implemented by universities and research centers of the country.

Aviation, astronautics and technology festival has been held on an annual basis since 2018 by the joint efforts of the T3 Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technologies of Turkey.

The purpose of the festival is to attract the interest of society, especially young people in technology, increase awareness of modern development and achievements of Turkey.
Visitors can see the latest developments of the Turkish defense industry, including the drones of Bayraktar Kızılelma and Bayraktar akıncı. For the first time, the Bayraktar TB3 shock drone will be presented.
Teknofest holds technological competitions, aviation shows, concerts, discussions on different topics and many other interesting events.
Teknofest is a chance for hundreds of thousands of people interested in the technologies of young people to realize their dreams, participating in various competitions.
This year, 41 competitions in 102 subcateurs are planned to be held as part of the festival. Applications for participation were submitted by 332 thousand teams and more than a million people. Competitions are held in many categories, such as smart transport, innovation in the field of biotechnology, development of microcircuits, rockets with vertical landing, educational technologies.
