Turkey will first accept the team of the World Sports Walking Championship in 2024.
420 athletes from 50 countries will take part in the competitions.
The competitions will be held in Antalya on April 21 on the highway in the area of the exhibition center EXPO-2016.
According to the Turkish athletics Federation (TAF), Turkey at the tournament will be represented by Merie Bekmaz, Salikh Korkmaz, Mazlum Demir, Hayrettin Yildiz, Aishe Thahin Shenodongu, as well as athletes selected following the results of the Balkan walking championship, which also also will be held in Antalya March 9th.
According to the head of the federation of Fatikha Chinthimar, in the event of a successful performance by the Turkish team, the number of individual and command quotas of Turkey in this sport at the upcoming Olympics-24 in Paris can increase to 6 athletes.
