Two extnsants are deported from Moldova to Azerbaijan

The prosecutor’s office in combating organized crime and especially important cases of Moldova proved the guilt of two citizens of Azerbaijan in the Beltsky court, who in the summer of 2021 demanded a sum of 10,000 euros from their compatriot living in the same city.

According to the Moldovan media, the Beltsky court sentenced both to 8 years in prison. At the request of prosecutors, the judge ordered each of them to pay a fine of 100,000 lei (8,800 manat).

Now the suspects are in custody before the sentence enters into legal force. After serving a sentence, extortionists will be deported from Moldova to Azerbaijan.

According to prosecutors, the organizer of extortion is the 39-year-old Azerbaijani prisoner contained in the pre-trial detention center for murder and robbery. In July 2021, he contacted his 34-year-old friend in his hometown in Azerbaijan and instructed him to receive an amount of 10,000 euros from the Azerbaijan dentist from Baltz through various threats.

The blackmail threatened the 60-year-old dentist to burn his operating room and promised to shoot his leg. To pay blackmailers, the dentist applied for a bank loan, but was refused. The daughter of the victim said to the extortionists.

The police provided the dentist with part of the money, putting it in advance to prove the fact of a crime and bring blackmails to justice.
