Ukrainian Jews turned to the government of Israel and the public with criticism about the position in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The appeal was placed by the Executive Council of the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine Joseph Zisels on his Facebook page.
According to Zisels, Jews are the organic part of the Ukrainian people and they also suffer from hostilities in Ukraine.
“tens of thousands of Jews were forced to leave, hundreds were killed. The vast majority of them are civilians who caught up with Russian missiles,” Zisels wrote.
He also recalled that missile strikes are destroyed by synagogues, Jewish cemeteries and monuments erected in memory of the Holocaust.
In this regard, Zisels on behalf of the Jews of Ukraine named the position that the Israeli government took in relation to the events of the Russian -Ukrainian war “passive position of the pseudonymalite”, and the logic that led to such actions is “immoral and unjustified.”
“An attempt not to defeat Russia is no different from attempts to appease the terrorists. Both Ukraine and Israel know very well what such a line of behavior is fraught,” Zisels emphasized.
