The UN Security Council due to the US objections, for the third time, could not agree on a joint statement to stop fighting in Israel and the Gaza Strip, reports TASS with reference to the source in the organization.
“The United States opposed the draft statement on the results of the open meeting held on Sunday,” the message.
The Security Council includes 15 countries, of which 5 are permanent members: Russia, China, USA, the United Kingdom and France. Each of the permanent members of the Security Council has the right of veto.
