UN General Assembly refused Russia

Russia wanted a vote for the UN General Assembly resolution for condemning attempts to annexation of Ukrainian territories to be secret, but lost. It is reported by Reuters.

On Monday, October 10, 107 countries supported the holding of a public rather than secret vote for the draft resolution, condemning pseudo -referendums and an attempt to illegally annexation of the four regions of Ukraine. Only 13 countries opposed public voting, 39 – abstained, the rest did not vote.

the General Assembly also opposed re -consideration of the issue of the possibility of a secret vote.

The resolution is developed to condemn the annexation of Russia four regions of Ukraine. The text states that the UN countries and international bodies should support the peaceful termination of the conflict “using political dialogue, negotiations, mediation and other peaceful means”.
