The UN Secretary General Antoniu Guterres resolutely condemned the looters who plundered the main humanitarian warehouse of the World Food Program (VPP) in the capital of Sudan Hartum.
“This is the next attack on the humanitarian institution since the beginning of the crisis, which has been going on for the fourth week,” the statement said with which its spokeswoman Farhan Khan spoke on behalf of the Secretary General.
The head of the UN notes that large -scale looting in Sudan affected the representative offices of many, if not all institutions of the UN and humanitarian partners of the organization.
Antoniu Guterres reminded all parties to the confrontation about the need to protect the personnel of humanitarian organizations and humanitarian institutions, including hospitals.
“In the name of saving lives, civilians and civil infrastructure should be protected. The interests of the Sudanese people, who found themselves in the conditions of a humanitarian disaster, – added the head of the UN.
