United States accuses Russia: food for millions of inhabitants hostage by Russian military

The United States and Russia have liable responsibility for the worsening of the food situation around the world amid the war in Ukraine.

Deutsche Welle reports that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Thursday, May 19, said that “food for millions of Ukrainians and millions of residents around the world is literally in hostage by Russian military.”

“Stop threatening the countries that criticize your aggressive war, the ban on export of food and fertilizer,” Blinken added, urging Russia to allow the export of Ukrainian grain blocked in ports in the Black Sea.

At the same time, speaking at the same meeting, the constant representative of the Russian Federation at the UN Vasily Nebenzya objected that Russia does not block the possibility of exporting agricultural products from Ukraine in a sea route. Nebenae claims that Kyiv does this by mining the Black Sea. The Ukrainian authorities “are evading interaction with representatives of foreign successor states in resolving the issue of the safe exit of blocked vessels to the collection area,” the non-prominent assures.

He also noted that the world has long been suffering from the food crisis due to the inflationary spiral caused by the growth of insurance, logistics problems and speculations in the western markets. Western sanctions against Russia exacerbate the food situation in the world, added a non -enzyme.
