The permanent representative of the United States of America at the UN Linda Thomas-Grinfield confirmed the inability to deprive Russia of the status of a permanent member of the Security Council of the organization, RIA Novosti reports.
“They are a permanent member of the Security Council. We cannot change this. But we can isolate them in this position. And we did it. We succeeded in their isolation. We isolated them in the Security Council,” she says.
According to Thomas-Grinfield, Washington should work on improving the organization and continue to use this body to provide pressure.
