United States did not offer Turkey concessions in exchange for entry of Sweden and Finland to NATO

A senior representative of the US administration said that Washington did not offer Turkey any concessions to convince her to refuse to counteract the introduction of Finland and Sweden to NATO, writes Voice of America.

According to the representative of the US administration, President Joe Biden deliberately did not involve the United States in negotiations or allow Washington to be in a position when Turkey could ask him for concessions.

The official, who acted on anonymity, said that Turkey never asked the United States as part of negotiations. He also admitted that the United States played an important role in bringing the positions of the parties.
