United States refused to return to Taliban helicopters stolen from Afghanistan

The USA and Tajikistan are discussing the fate of helicopters that Afghan pilots delivered to the republic from Afghanistan last August after the country’s capture by Taliban.

“The United States does not plan to transfer them to the Taliban. These helicopters will not be transferred to the Taliban because they do not belong to them,” John Mark Ozodi, Tajik Service of Radio Liberty, quotes the US ambassador to Tajikistan.

Earlier, the leadership of the Taliban stated that in August 2021 dozens of helicopters and aircraft were transferred by Afghan pilots to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan after seizing power and required their return. Later, according to local media, with the help of the United States, Afghan pilots were moved to third countries, but the fate of helicopters and aircraft taken from Afghanistan is unknown.
