Until August 13, parliament can be dissolved in Pakistan – Minister

The National Assembly of Pakistan and regional councils, whose five -year period of activity is coming to an end, can be dissolved until August 13. This was announced on the air of the GEO New News, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Pakistan, Ran Sanaulla.

According to him, such a step will might be taken to facilitate the work of the election commission.

“If the National Assembly and Regional Councils will be dissolved on August 11, the election commission will have more than 90 days to prepare for the elections,” said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Sanaulla noted that after the dissolution of the assembly, the country will be governed by the Provisional Government, and the parliamentary elections will be held in accordance with the Constitution.

The statements of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs followed the messages of the individual media about the extension of the mandate of the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani People’s Party, one of the partners of the coalition government, also proposed to dissolve the parliament on April 8.

The mandate of the National Assembly of Pakistan and the regional councils of the provinces of Shind and Belujistan expires on August 12. Since the temporary heads of the regions are currently acting in Penjab and Haibert Pakhtunhwe, the tips in these two province will not be dissolved.
