US congratulated Turkey on 100th anniversary of republic

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken published a congratulatory message on the occasion of the centenary of the foundation of the Turkish Republic.

“On behalf of the American people, I express sincere congratulations to the people of Turkey on the occasion of the century since the founding of the Turkish Republic,” the statement of the head of American diplomacy said.

Secretary of State indicated that for a hundred years of its existence, the Turkish Republic played a “most important role” in the world arena.

Blinken noted the “deepening and strengthening” of friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

“Our NATO Alliance is the basis of the regional world and security, and together we support the sovereignty and democracy of Ukraine,” the statement says.

According to him, the development of trade and investment contacts between the United States and Turkey ensures the creation of new workplaces and economic capabilities in both countries.

Secretary of State emphasized the expansion of student, cultural and scientific exchange programs between the two countries, as well as the growth of mutual tourist flow volumes.

Blinken emphasized that American-Turkish cooperation in the field of environmentally friendly energy solutions in order to resolve the climate crisis, as well as in the field of science, space and technology creates “promising new ways for progress.”

“On this historical date, we celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic with you and hope for another century of friendship and union, which will benefit our peoples, the region and the whole world,” the US Secretary of State said.

Every year on October 29, the Turkish people celebrate the main national holiday – the Day of the Republic. It was on this day in 1923 that Türkiye was declared a republic.
