US notified Turkey about passage of two warships through Bosphorus

Washington notified Ankra that two US warships will be held next week through the Bosphorus in the Black Sea, the NTV TV channel on Friday reports.

The United States is obliged to notify Turkey about the passage of their warships through the Bosphorus Straits and Dardanelles in accordance with the provisions of the Montreux Convention.

Previously, CNN TV channel with reference to a military source reported that the states consider the opportunity to send ships to the Black Sea in the coming weeks against the background of the intended “growth of Russian military activity” on the border with Ukraine. The United States must report on its intentions to send ships to the Black Sea.
