US special operation in Syria

The US Department of Defense confirmed that during a special operation in the north of Syria, one of the leaders of the Islamic State terrorist organization, known as Rakhan Ash Shamri, was liquidated. The Pentagon report noted that Ash Shamri was responsible for the IS for smuggling weapons and the recruitment of militants.

On the evening of Thursday, October 6, Reuters reported that the American military had surgery in the northeast of Syria, destroying one of the leaders of the Islamic State. It was noted that during the operation, for which helicopters were involved, another militant was wounded. Two terrorists are captured by American special forces.

Earlier, the state television of Syria reported that on the night of October 6, the US military held a raid on the territory, which is under the control of the Syrian government, near the city of Kamyshla in the north of the country. About 50 military personnel who arrived on several helicopters participated in the operation in the village of Muluk-Saray. They liquidated one person. As noted by The Syrian Observator for Human Rights, this is the first case of such a raid on the territory controlled by Bashar Assada.
