- US Ambassador to Turkey: SDF is YPG, and YPG is a derivative of RSC
US Ambassador to Ankara Barrak, after a press conference on the eve of New York, talked with an anadola correspondent.
When Barraku was reminded of his previous statement that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDS) is YPG. YPG is the branch of the RSC, ”he said:“ I never said that the SDS is the branch of the RSC. YPG arose from various branches of the RKK. SDS arose from various YPG branches. “
commenting on the failure of negotiations between the Red Army/YPG terrorist organization, acting under the SDS in Syria, with the Damascus government, Barrak said that the main question is “whether they will join the Syrian Arab Republic.”
“One country, one people, one army is determined by this people. From now on we accept it. This is the point. Forget, where they came from, about their specifics. All these minorities may want a federal structure. But this is not what they are imposed. This is not connected with us. Is it not for us to be arbitrators of intellectual debates. Is it right? Do you need a parliamentary system? Do you need a confessional system? How are you all, we all, mainly the UN, say: “If you need our help, it is really important.”
“The goal is not to maintain the (military) presence of the United States endlessly”
Speaking about the US military presence in Syria, Barrak said that the fight against the terrorist organization Deasha continues.
“We have a military presence in this region, and we continue it. The goal is not to maintain this presence endlessly. During the fight against deash and terrorism, we will eventually decide to reduce the number of these troops. Just like the entire number of troops should be reduced if the new independent Syrian government,” he said.
The hut also attracted attention to the risks associated with the integration process in Syria.
“In my opinion, this is a transitional period in which for seven months it has not been possible to reach consent, and there is a fear that the uncertainty of the past will remain in the future. Will the Syrian government act fairly? But we are not there to force. We are there in order to initiate it,” said the ambassador.
