Vienna plans to open “Hitler’s Balcony” to visitors

Vienna decided to open the so-called “Hitler’s Balcony” for visitors, from which the German dictator Adolf Hitler in 1938 proclaimed the Anschluss of Austria and the Third Reich. Reported by Welt.

Hitler’s speech took place on the balcony of the New Hofburg Castle on March 15, 1938. The balcony will be opened by the decision of the director of the House of Austrian History (HdGÖ), which is located in the New Castle, Monika Sommer.

According to Sommer, excursions for interested parties will be organized first. It is noted that the majority of the interviewed visitors to the House of Austrian History supported the opening of the balcony.
