Volodin: State Duma of Russian Federation will turn to parliament of France due to incident with “mercenaries” in Kharkov

The State Duma of the Russian Federation intends to turn to the National Assembly of the French Republic due to the fact that France sends its citizens to “fight in Ukraine.” This was announced by the speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.

The politician recalled that the Ambassador of France in Moscow was called to the Russian Foreign Ministry “in connection with the destruction of the armed forces of the Russian Federation of foreign militants in Kharkov.”

“But in France, mercenarism is prohibited by law. Having read this, the topic deserves that the State Duma deputies turn to the National Assembly of the French Republic. It is important to know whether they are aware that someone, violating the norms of the law, directs the militants to fight against Ukraine, ”Volodin wrote in his Telegram channel.

The politician indicated that in the history of relations between both countries there are different stages. “There was a time when our grandfathers and great -grandfathers fought against fascism together,” he recalled.

“But today, as it turned out, the mercenaries-French are dying for the Nazi regime in Ukraine. Do citizens of France and deputies representing their interests know about this? At the nearest plenary meeting of the State Duma, we will definitely consider the appeal to the French parliament with the above issues”, – concluded Volodin.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that “in the evening of January 16, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation struck a high -precision hit on the temporary deployment of foreign militants in the city of Kharkov, which was the basis of which were French mercenaries.” The Russian department claims that “more than 60 militants were liquidated and more than 20 were delivered to medical institutions.”
