Wall Street Journal: Iran refuses to make concessions, and US is patience on outcome

For several months of the United States almost begged Iran back at the negotiating table, although representatives of the United States will not even attend the negotiating table in Vienna. Iran refuses to talk with the United States directly, so American negotiators should work through European mediators, writes The Wall Street Journal.

In the report of the American publication, it is noted that, although the United States seems to do not care if this intentional ignoring, the country’s authorities still hint that their patience is not enough for a long time. At the same time, the Wall Street Journal writes, you should not underestimate the desire of the Administration of Byyden to conclude a deal, and any deal.

USA and Europe are counting on that negotiations will lead to concessions from Tehran and to the further weakening of US sanctions.

Iranian diplomats in response say that they will only make a return to the transaction of 2015, concluded by the then US President Barack Obama. That deal gave Iran sufficient freedom of action before Donald Trump came out of it in 2018.

Iran also requires that any prisoner deal remains in strength and after the end of the presidency of Joe Bayden.
