On the eve of the visit to Moscow, the head of the office of the Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Foreign Affairs of Van and the United States warned Beijing from Russian military supplies. Washington believes that such deliveries can lead to the escalation of the conflict if Russia and China come to confrontation on the one hand, and on the other – the USA and NATO that supports Ukraine, BBC reports.
It is expected that Van will discuss with the Russian leadership the possibility of a diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Even at a security conference in Munich, China announced a certain peace plan in Ukraine, but did not share details. Then the German Foreign Minister Annalena Berobok warned China’s representatives about the inadmissibility of Russia’s weapons and double -purpose goods. She talked about this on Monday at a briefing in Brussels.
Also on Monday, while in Budapest, Van and declared the readiness of Beijing together with Hungary and near other countries to put an end to military operations and called on the West to “calmly reflect” about how it is better to achieve.
On Saturday, February 18, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken warned Van about the consequences if China provides Russia with material support in the war with Ukraine.
The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Monday told the Americans that “the USA is not right to make demands of China.”
