Secret reports on the state of affairs in the USSR, which in the late 1980s quarterly constituted the State Security Committee (KGB) for the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPSU Mikhail Gorbachev, turned out to be at the disposal of foreign states agents. With such a statement in the article for the National Defense magazine, an ex-KGB officer, Colonel retired Yuri Kobyakov.
According to the former employee of the intelligence agency, a group of highly qualified analysts was engaged in preparing documents. Kobyakov noted that these reports contained a real picture of the situation in the USSR in all its aspects, it was said about errors and disadvantages in the work of power structures, and data on factors and informal groups were reflected, which represented the potential threat to the Soviet government to the socialist building.
It should be noted that the entire volume of information received and analyzed in the KGB of the USSR gave reason to make a unambiguous conclusion – in those years of objective reasons for an inevitable collapse of the USSR as one of the superpower was not “,” leads the newspaper Kobyakov.
