Hackers put up for sale more than 500 million users of the WhatsApp messenger, Russian telegram channels write.
Attackers put up for sale a base of current numbers tied to WhatsApp accounts. Almost 10 million of them are owned by Russians.
It is known that the database includes information about accounts from 84 countries, including from Russia, the USA, Great Britain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Italy, France, Turkey and other states.
Since META reported that the number of WhatsApp users is about 2 billion, we can assume that the database contains data on a quarter of them from all over the world.
