WHO: number of diabetes patients has grown sharply

“The need to make urgent measures to combat diabetes are obvious more than ever. The number of people with diabetes has increased four times in the last 40 years. This is the only serious non-infectious disease, in which the risk of premature death increases, and not decreases. The head of WHO added that measures should be taken to expand the population’s access to early diagnosis of the disease, as well as drugs.
