Will Uzbekistan deprive citizenship for mercenaries?

It is necessary to take strict measures against Uzbekistians who participate in the war for the benefit of another country. This was stated by the deputy speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the leader of the Party “Milli Tiklinish” Alisher Kadyrov, writes Uzbek radio freedom.

Alisher Kadyrov recalled that in Uzbekistan, participation in the hostilities of other countries is criminally punishable. The perpetrators can be sentenced to five years in prison. However, according to Kadyrov, this measure is ineffective.

“Such persons should be deprived of citizenship and are forbidden to go to the entrance to Uzbekistan from the date of registration of the draft,” he said. The party leader noted that consultations have already begun to make these changes in the Criminal Code of the country. He was supported by the speaker of the Legislative Chamber Oliy Mazhlis.
