Woman-politician who protruded against Taliban was shot

In Kabul, the former deputy of the Afghan parliament Mursal Nabizada was killed in his own house. She was shot by unknown, her bodyguard also died, Radio Liberty reports.

Nabizada was a parliamentarian from 2019 to August 2021, when the Taliban movement came to power in Afghanistan. She is one of the few women politicians who did not leave the country after a change of power. She was 32 years old.

The ex-deputy openly spoke out against the laws introduced by the Taliban. She criticized the ban on education for women and girls and other violations of civil rights.
