World Bank will allocate half a billion to Turkey for recovery after natural disasters

The World Bank will allocate $ 449.2 million to support the reconstruction project after earthquakes, floods and forest fires in Turkey (Tefwer), writes Dayli Sabah.

Auguste Kuama, the head of the World Bank representative office in Turkey, said: “The World Bank is determined to support Turkey’s actions in response to geophysical risks and risks associated with climate change that people, communities and economics are faced.”

Money will go to municipalities, which in 2020-2021 were most affected by natural disasters. As part of the recovery project, urgent repair, structural strengthening and reconstruction of damaged municipal infrastructure will be carried out. The efforts to increase the readiness for natural disasters and adaptation to climate change will also be maintained. Inexplicable funds of the government can redistribute on any municipalities that will suffer from the elements.
