The Second World War went down in history as the largest armed conflict in the history of mankind, which shocked almost all the corners of the world. The fighting was conducted both in Eurasia and Africa, and in the waters of all oceans.

The three main partners in the unification, which was originally called the alliance of the axis countries, were Nazi Germany, Italy and Japan. At the head of the anti -Hitler coalition, the UK, the United States of America and the Soviet Union.

The war was drawn up to 60 states, over 80% of the population of the globe, military operations were carried out in the territory of 40 states. 110 million people were mobilized into the armed forces. The total human losses reached about 80 million people.

The beginning of World War II is considered on September 1, 1939, when Nazi Germany began the invasion of Poland. The war ended on September 2, 1945 by the surrender of Japan.
