The European Union should not depend or be under the control of any third party. This was stated by the chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping during a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Sholts. This was reported by the agency Sinhua.
“I hope that Europe will be stable and prosperous, preserving the existing line in the development of relations with China. One cannot depend and be under control of a third party,” said the head of China.
According to Xi Jinping, Beijing has always considered the European Union as a partner, therefore it supports an independent policy of unification. He recalled that, despite the difficult foreign policy situation, China seeks to maintain mutually beneficial relations with Europe.
