The negotiations of Moscow and Kyiv are not the first, but the last step towards the world, said the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrei Ermak to Economist.
“Negotiations is the last step towards the world, and not the first. The world is not just a lack of struggle. Therefore, the opinion of some Western politicians that sitting at the negotiating table is the first thing that should take place before it reigned in Ukraine The world is a fundamental mistake, ”says Ermak.
According to him, it is absurd to call both sides to a conversation when Russia cannot recognize the right of Ukraine to the existence of a sovereign state.
“Until Western countries will not create effective mechanisms to restrain Russian aggressors, their punishment will not force them to fulfill their obligations according to international law, any negotiations will allow Russia to use diplomacy as a weapon, giving themselves a break to prepare for the next act of aggression,” – Ermak is convinced.
