20-year-old Gunai Mamedzade wins party for party in tournament of strongest chess players of world

Azerbaijani Chess player Guenai Mamedzade continues to surprise the chess world, successfully speaking at the stage of the FIDE Grand Prix in Gibraltar.

As the 10th Chess player by the Rating Tournament, Gunay (2443) after 8 tours from 5.5 points occupies 3rd place, inferior to Ukrainian Mary Muzychuk only for additional indicators. Kazakhstani chess player Zhansai Abdumalik, in the asset of 6.5 points.

Guenai Mamedzade marked victories over the representative of Romania Irina Bullmagoy (2440), as well as the Russians of Alina Kashlin (2494), Valentina Hunin (2421) and Katerina Lagno (2546). And in the 6th, 7th and 8th rounds of Mamedzade won three victories in a row.

In the remaining three-rounds, Azerbaijani chess player will play with the sister of Mary Musicuk Anna, Dinara Saduakassova from Kazakhstan and German Elizabeth Petz.

Gibraltar tournament is the fourth and final stage of the Grand Prix. According to the regulations, two best chess players on the basis of the general credit will play in the tournament of applicants in 2022. For Guenai Mamedzade, the competition in Gibraltar is a debut at the FIDE Grand Prix, and therefore, she initially had no chance of hiting the tournament in the tournament.
