21 yacht detained in Finland, and real estate of Russian billionaires was arrested in Switzerland

Finnish customs detained 21 yacht, which may be associated with Russians who have fallen under sanctions. It is reported by Radio Liberty with reference to the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper.

The Insider writes, the Swiss authorities imposed arrest on the apartments on a golf resort in Cantonon Bern. Presumably, this property belongs to the Russian billionaire Peter Avenu, the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alfa-Bank. He left this post on March 1, after it was under the sanctions because of the Russian military invasion of the territory of Ukraine. The arrested apartment with three bedrooms is located on the fifth floor of the luxury complex Les Hauts de GStaad.

Last week, the Italian authorities arrested a building complex at the Mediterranean Island of Sardinia, belonging to Avenue. The billionaire himself called the sanctions imposed on him “false and unreasonable.”

Radio Liberty reminds that yachts, private aircraft, real estate facilities and other property of Russian businessmen are arrested in Europe after the introduction of sanctions by the European Union, Great Britain, the United States and other countries. According to Bloomberg, only in Italy has been frozen the assets of Russians for 780 million euros.
