Kazakhstan and China signed 24 intergovernmental documents covering cooperation in various fields.
According to the statement published by the President of Kazakhstan, President Kasim-Zhomart Tokaev in the Akorda residence held the official ceremony of the meeting of the PRC of China Xi Jinping, who arrived in Astana to participate in the 2nd China-Central Asia summit.
During negotiations with the Chinese leader, Tokaev called China not only a good neighbor of Kazakhstan, but also a close friend and reliable partner.
Tokaev noted that in the history of bilateral relations there were never conflicts or obstacles.
“The Chinese people never harmed the people of Kazakhstan,” he said.
He also emphasized that Kazakhstan highly appreciates constant support from China in matters of sovereignty.
“China never put forward political conditions in the framework of cooperation with Kazakhstan,” he said.
Tokaev drew attention to the fact that China is the largest trading partner of Kazakhstan, and said that last year the volume of bilateral trade reached a record mark of $ 44 billion.
The President also said that in Kazakhstan it was decided to build at least two or three -tents and that within the framework of this project, the Chinese National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) is considered as a reliable strategic partner.
The chairman of China Xi Jinping, in turn, expressed sincere joy about the success of Kazakhstan.
“Thanks to joint efforts in recent years, the partnership of fate between China and Kazakhstan is constantly enriched with new content,” he said.
The Chinese leader noted that many jointly implemented socially significant projects brought specific benefits to both peoples.
“I am ready to work with you for the progressive development of comprehensive cooperation between China and Kazakhstan, strengthening friendship and increasing the contribution of bilateral relations to the development of the region and the world,” he emphasized.
After the meeting of Tokayev and Si, 24 documents were signed between the governments of the two countries.
During negotiations between the delegations of Kazakhstan and China, agreements were exchanged in such areas as energy, aviation, digitalization, customs regulation, agriculture, electronic trade, tourism, medicine, media, science and interregional relations.
In addition, 58 commercial documents with a total value of more than 24 billion dollars were signed.
