25 Percent Duties For Steel And Aluminum Imports Entered Into Force In United States

The USA entered into force 25 percent duties on the import of steel and aluminum, introduced by US President Donald Trump.

The corresponding decision was made against the backdrop of fears associated with the fact that it can lead to a recession in the US economy.

Along with Canada, Mexico and China, Trump also plans to introduce “mutual tariffs” for US trading partners, such as the European Union (EU), Brazil and South Korea, starting on April 2.

On the eve of a meeting with the heads of enterprises, Trump said that the higher the tariff, the more likely that the companies will invest in the United States.

The United States introduced additional duties against two neighboring countries

Additional duties of the United States in the amount of 25 percent of products imported from Canada and Mexico entered into force on March 4.

Later Trump said that he would not introduce duties on products that are subject to free trade agreement between the USA, Canada and Mexica (USMCA), until April 2.
