26 Illegal Migrants Rescued Off Coast Of Izmir, Turkey

Off the coast of Cesme district of Izmir province in western Turkey, 26 illegal migrants were rescued, including two children, who were on a drifting rubber boat.

This was reported on the website of the Turkish Coast Guard Command.

After receiving information that a boat with migrants was drifting due to an engine malfunction and a signal about assistance, coast guard teams were promptly dispatched to the area of the incident.

Rescuers successfully evacuated 26 people, including two children, who were on the boat.

All migrants were taken to the Izmir Provincial Migration Department for the necessary administrative procedures.
