In the Square of the Republic in Almaty, a rally agreed by the authorities in memory of the victims of the January events is held. KazTAG reports that at least 300 people gathered at the monument of independence at 12:00. They came to honor the memory of those killed during the tragic events of the beginning of January.
On the monument, the rally participants attached an unofficial list of dead, compiled by activists. The agency notes that officially a list of Kazakhstan’s authorities has not yet been published. At the monument, people lay flowers.
Earlier, Kazakhstani authorities announced the illegality of the rally, the agency writes, but on the day of the event the area is not consumed, the free passage of vehicles is provided, there is little security forces on the site of events.
