In Turkey, on October 29, Republic Day, the 6th International Regatta for the Turkish President’s Cup, held under the patronage of the country’s president, starts. Anadolu Agency is the global media partner of the competition.
The regatta is organized by the Istanbul High Seas Sailing Club with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Istanbul Governorate and the Turkish Sailing Federation. The main sponsor is DHL Express Türkiye.
The stage in Istanbul will be the final one in a series of races previously held in Samsun, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Canakkale. According to tradition, the competition will begin at the Dolmabahce Palace with a minute of silence in memory of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades.
Sailboats gliding on both sides of the Bosphorus will create a spectacle where the festive atmosphere of Republic Day will meet the beauty of the sea wind and the historical silhouette of the city.
On November 1-2, participants will go wild and geographical distances where they will compete in speed, endurance and team coordination. Spectators will be able to watch the regatta along the Bosphorus coastline.
Following the results of four stages, the crew that shows the best result will receive the title of champion of the 6th International Regatta for the Turkish President’s Cup and the President’s Cup. The final and awards ceremony will be held on November 2 in Fishekhan.

Chairman of the Istanbul Sailing Club and Organizing Committee Ekrem Yemlihaoğlu noted that this year’s regatta route covers all corners of the Blue Homeland.
