Akdamar Island on Lake Van and historical monuments located on it are the first stop for local and foreign tourists who come to the region.

Pensioner Gunai Erdinch, who came from Chanakkale, said that after retirement, he travels throughout Turkey:
“I was here and last year – I really liked it. This year we arrived in a group of 45 people. Akdamar is a magnificent place with a rich history and unique nature. I visited 40 countries, but I have not met such beauties as in our country. Flowering almond trees make the island even more beautiful. Next year I will definitely take part in the festival here”.
