AFAD: Earthquakes in Turkey lasted 2 minutes

The two recent most powerful earthquakes in Turkey continued a total of 2 minutes.

This was stated in Ankara by the head of the department for reducing the risk of controls on preventing and eliminating the consequences of emergency situations (AFAD) under the government of Turkey Orhan Tatars.

“The total duration of these two earthquakes (magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 – ed.) was 2 minutes. The epicenter lay at a depth of 8.5 and 10 km. The soil shifted 7.3 m,” he said.

AFAD representative added that after the earthquakes 3,858 repeated submarines were registered.
