Afghanistan And Pakistan Blame Each Other For Attacks In Border Area

The authorities of Afghanistan and Pakistan exchanged mutual accusations after the attacks carried out on December 5 in the border area.

Both sides claim that their territories were the first to be attacked and that they responded to these actions.

The representative of the Afghan administration, Zabihullah Mujahid, said on the social network of the American company X that the Pakistani side again attacked the Spin Boldak area in Kandahar and the Afghan forces were forced to respond.

“Shortly before this, the Afghan Taliban regime opened fire on the border in the Chaman region for no reason. Our armed forces immediately gave a proportionate and intensive response,” said one of the press secretaries of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mosharraf Zaidi.

According to the interlocutors of the Tolo News TV channel, as a result of the attacks in Afghanistan Spin Boldake killed five people and injured five more.

According to the Pakistani newspaper Dawn, three people were injured in the Chaman district of Pakistan. Previously, border clashes had occurred between the two countries. A temporary truce announced on October 15 was extended pending the completion of negotiations facilitated by Turkey and Qatar.

After 14 hours of negotiations in Doha, the delegations of the two states agreed to meet with a technical committee that would work out the details of the truce. The meeting took place on October 25 in Istanbul.

At the same time, on November 7, it was announced that the negotiations did not bring results and were suspended.
