As a result of a Pakistani Air Force strike on the border district of Spin Buldak in the Afghan province of Kandahar, 40 people were killed and another 170 were injured.
This is reported by the Afghan information resource Tolo News, citing local authorities.
Reportedly, due to artillery shelling from Pakistan in the Nokli areas, Wardak, Kuchian, Shorabak and Shahid, several houses were damaged.
Aggravation of the situation on the Afghan-Pakistan border
On October 9, explosions occurred in the Afghan capital, after which the Afghan authorities accused Pakistan of organizing explosions in Marga and Kabul.
October 11 in the province of Paktia, located on the border with Pakistan, there were fierce exchanges of fire between the border troops of the two countries.
The Afghan side said that 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed in these clashes, another 30 were injured, and a significant amount of weapons and equipment passed into the hands of Afghan border guards. Mujahid admitted that 9 soldiers were killed on the Afghan side.
A representative of the Afghan government noted that hostilities were stopped thanks to the mediation of Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
In turn, the Pakistani army reported 23 dead and 29 wounded soldiers, and also stated that more than 200 “terrorists” associated with Afghan leadership were neutralized.
On October 15, Pakistan and Afghanistan reached a temporary ceasefire agreement for the next 48 hours.
