The Ganjin City Prosecutor’s Office investigates violations at the Research Institute for Protection of Plants and Technical Cultures of the Center for Agrarian Science and Innovation under the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan.
According to the prosecutor’s office, during the investigation, reasonable suspicions of theft of budget funds were identified by paying wages, bonuses and travel expenses to some employees of the specified institution in excess of the norms prescribed by law.
“A criminal case has been instituted in the Ganjin City Prosecutor’s Office under Articles 179.2.3 (embezzlement using official position), 179.2.4 (embezzlement with causing significant damage) and 308.1 (abuse of official powers) of the Criminal Code.
