Two largest Turkish airports – Istanbul and Antalya – set absolute records for the number of served passengers in one day. This was announced by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey Abdulkadir Uraloglu.
, according to him, on July 26, Antalya International Airport received 225,118 passengers, which became a record indicator in the history of the air harbor. At the same time, 203 348 people took advantage of international flights, and 21,770 – internal. On this day, 1074 international and 143 internal flights were completed.
The next day, July 27, the new record set the Istanbul airport, which served 272 132 passengers. This indicator has become a record for the number of passengers served in one day, not only for Turkey, but in Europe, the Minister noted.
Ugrogllom emphasized that these numbers clearly demonstrate the growth of passenger traffic and restoration of tourist activity in the country. The previous Antalya record, set on August 3, 2024 (223 217 passengers), was exceeded by almost 2 thousand people.
