Akar thanked Azerbaijani people

In Turkey, the 108th anniversary of the battle of Sarykamysh is noted today. In the battle of Sarykamysh (December 1914 – January 1915), the troops of the Ottoman state and units of the Russian army participated during the First World War. Up to 90 thousand Turkish military were killed in the battle.

In memory of the victims of the Battle, the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulushi Akar made a statement in which he also mentioned the support of Azerbaijan on those tragic days.

“On this significant day, when we honor the memory of those who died at Sarykamysh, we express gratitude to the Azerbaijani people, who, having assisted our soldiers, forced to settled on the island of Nargin, demonstrated a visual example of one people, two states,” the statement said in the statement Minister.
